On Wednesday, October 19, the LA Metro Chamber welcomed 19 candidates for elected office in Androscoggin County for the 2023 Meet the Candidates Forum. Twelve races were overviewed, including the Gubernatorial race, the Congressional Race, the State Senate Races, and the State Representative Races. This year is the first election with the newly redistricted districts throughout Maine, and some incumbents below are running in a newly numbered district.
Each candidate was invited to speak for 2 minutes in response to the question “what are the biggest issues or opportunities facing your constituents, and how will you address them if elected?”. Moderator Shanna Cox, President + CEO of the LA Metro Chamber then offered two questions for candidates in each race, inspried by the candidates introductions. The LA Metro Chamber is proud to have recorded and posted to their YouTube account each of the candidates introductions and the dialogue between the candidates in each race.
Chamber of Commerces were incorporated with the fundamental belief that when people with shared interest join together to impact change on shared priorities, the business community will be better served. The LA Metro Chamber of Commerce believes that our members help this area to Build, Lead, and Thrive through, and because of, civic engagement. We encourage employers, small business owners and operators, and residents of Androscoggin County to get informed, get involved, and vote. This year election day is November 8th; and early voting is underway in area municipal buildings.
