LA Metro Chamber Has Pride
Androscoggin County, Maine – The LA Metro Chamber is proud to partner with Great Falls Pride throughout June for Pride Month, and to bring a lunch and learn special topic to employers and employees across the region. LGBTQ Means Business – Best Practices Lunch and Learn is Wednesday, June 5th at 12 PM at the LA Metro Chamber. Creating inclusive workplaces and welcoming communities is a key part of attracting and retaining talent and growing the local economy.
Mindful of rainbow washing, the LA Metro Chamber is encouraging local employers to make meaningful efforts to recognize, support, and center the leadership of the LGBTQ community. Great Falls Pride is making it easy for employers and residents alike in 2024, with a month full of events to share with employees and to attend. From Pride Prom and Printmaking to Storytelling and a Pride Festival and March, there is an option for everyone.
Pride Prom at Agora Grand Event Center

Strike your best prom post and kick off Pride with Great Falls Pride on Saturday, June 1st for a night of community, fun and celebration with music, dancing, a photo booth, and a surprise performance! We will have a cash bar and food available for purchase.
Drag Queen Story Hour at Quiet City Books

Flower Crown Workshop with Queerly Maine and Primal Blossoms (right before the march!)
Sunday, June 2, 2024 | 9 am – 10 am
Learn how to make a flower crown – just in time for the pride march! This workshop will take place in Simard Payne Park before the march. Registration is required and space is limited. Please register here!
Pride Festival & March!
Sunday, June 2:
- 10:30 am: Gather at Great Falls Plaza in Auburn – corner Turner & Hampshire Streets)
- 11 am: March!
- End at Simard Payne Park in Lewiston and enjoy brief remarks, the Lewiston Farmers’ Market and the Great Falls Pride Festival on Oxford Street!
Cost: The march is free! There will be vendors to purchase food and crafts from at the end of march.
Please note: Maine can have unpredictable weather! Please come prepared. The march route is step-free and about a mile. Feel free to bring signs and rock a great outfit. The march will be loud and busy, so please do not bring pets.

Pride Ride with Queers in Gear

Meet at Rainbow Bicycle: 97 Lisbon St, Lewiston
Cost: Free
Join us for a special edition of Queers in Gear for Pride! This ride will be a leisurely parade-like ride with your community along the Androscoggin River. The route will be mostly on bike paths and quiet back roads. Please make sure your bike is in good working order and bring water.

Join us for our LGBTQ Means Business Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, June 5th at Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Join Annalise from Procter and Gamble, and Laura from Androscoggin Bank as they discuss inclusivity in the workplace. This presentation will discuss best practices from two local employers and how you can help to incorporate these practices into your places of employment. Learn how to create a culture where everyone feels respected, valued and accepted as their authentic selves. As June is Gay Pride Month, this training will focus on LGBTQIA+ inclusivity measures.

Use Downtown Handmade’s screens to print your own t-shirt or bandana for free! If you can spare a t-shirt or bandana to donate, that would be amazing! They will have bandanas to purchase to print.
You will also be able to carve your own block to print. Please consider making a donation to help cover the costs of this event!
The Corner – Pride Edition

Our special Pride theme is “There All Along.” What happens when something was there all along? What does it mean to be visible? Join L-A It’s Happening Queer for a special edition of Lewiston’s live storytelling event, The Corner, with great stories about visibility and being there!
