The LA Metro Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed six new members to the Board of Directors and appointed John Rice, Director of Operations at Schooner Estates Senior Living as its new Chair of the Board.
With its collective efforts, the board ensures the vision of the LA Metro Chamber is achieved by helping to build, daring to lead, and inspiring business and community to thrive.
New Directors include:
- Mark Adams, President + CEO of Sebago Technics, Inc.
- Betsy Sibley, Vice President of Marketing at Community Credit Union
- Elise Johansen, Executive Director of Safe Voices
- Alyson Daniels, Executive Assistant to the President at Central Maine Community College
- Sophia Bailey, Owner of Caribbean Life Grocery & Gift Shop
- Gael Karomba, MSc, Co-Founder and CFO of Happy Haven, LLC
These six individuals bring many years of governance experience and business expertise and will add specialized skills and perspectives to the board, composed of twenty-one directors with organizational and project management, community engagement, social justice and advocacy, workforce development and professional advancement, entrepreneurial support and small business management, and financial literacy and direct support.
Board Chair, John Rice of Schooner Estates says, “I am very excited to be starting my 5th year on the LA Metro Chamber Board and this year as the Chair. Despite working through a pandemic, the Chamber has managed to restructure its operations to provide more support and offerings than ever to their membership. Shanna has built an amazing office team and the Board has recruited diverse, experienced, and well-rounded members. After almost two years of trying to just hang on as a business while supporting other businesses, our heads are up and facing forward to what we feel is a very bright and prosperous future.”
This diverse and talented group of regional business leaders reflects the Chamber membership and the greater LA Region, and pulls together the collective experience and expertise needed to govern the LA Metro Chamber and continues its trajectory of growth and progress.
